Concours 2013

The Concours d’Elégance “Castello di Miramare”, held for the third time during the week-end 11th-12th May, was the last rendez-vous in the selection stages that will display in Trieste the “30 among the most beautiful cars in the world”. The cars, selected in the previous events by the work of different Juries of very high expertise, will be on show next spring 2014 for the Grand Finale.

In addition to the judging of the experts, thousands of visitors keen to vote for their preferred car made their choice.

Let us say that, while during the two previous Concours the people’s choice was rather different from the Jury’s, this time a Talbot-Lago T 120 from the Netherlands, built in 1939, managed to make everybody agree: consequently, the Talbot achieved a clear sweep of the prizes being awarded Best of Show in addition to best example in class A for open cars before 1940 and the People’s Choice.

The members of the Jury were two well known expert designers, Enrico Fumia and Tom Tjaarda, who carried out their task with great professionalism within a display of an exceptional variety of rare and valuable examples with the difficult aim of selecting the cars to be awarded.

Once again, the Concours has confirmed its international vocation by hosting participants representing the best historic vehicle collecting from Italy, the Principality of Monaco, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
