The Concours

Concours d’Elégance “Castello di Miramare”

The project carried out by Associazione Amatori Veicoli Storici is ambitious but – precisely for this reason – is fascinating: it aims at identifying the 30 cars worthy of being described  as “the most beautiful worldwide” among those built between 1930 and the beginning of the 1970s, a period considered to be the “Renaissance” of automobile design.

The Concours will take place in Trieste next 11th – 12th May and will offer a parade of 30 cars that are outstanding for their charm and rarity.

A jury of experts will choose among them the ten top cars that will join as many other “stars” which have emerged from the Concours 2011, 2012 and those which will be selected in the Concours 2013. They will then enter the Grand Final in 2014 to compete for “the most beautiful cars worldwide”.

The Concours formula does not limit its attractiveness to single events, on the contrary it keeps interest alive, and in this way it makes the Concours d’Elégance “Castello di Miramare” the rendez-vous of the year besides making it unique in its kind.

Another reason is also because the programme is closely linked to Trieste that – let us point out, has recently been placed by the specialised tourist guide “Lonely Planet” among the top positions of “the most fascinating cities in the world and yet incredibly neglected by tourism”.

On Sunday afternoon, without the nuisance of fences, the public will be able to admire the cars – until late in the evening – in the beauty of the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, while on Sunday the park of Miramare Castle will be the stage for the event’s conclusion.
